Hi Im new to this forum but im not new to iaido or aikido although ive got a lot to learn!
I was just wandering if anyone has any experience with the Nosyu steel iaito katana because i got one just recently bought from swordstore.com and its quite heavy for iai kata but perfect for tameshigiri. Does anyone else use the Batto-yo sold at swordstore.com, thoughts ideas on their overall quality?

nice swords but a little expensive... you pays your money, you takes your chance, same as all the other iaito suppliers! I quite like the cutting blades although they tend to be a bit on the plain side...

Jeremy, I understand the reservation of buying a sword sight unseen and having to trust the person on the other end of your internet connection. I have been dealing with Rick Pollard and the Sword Store for the past few years and can very highly recommend both Rick for his assistance and the quality of the swords I have purchased. I first purchased a 2002 Iaito and was and still am very pleased with it and it is used for my regular Iaido practice a couple of days a week. Second I purchased a Shinken made by a Japanese Smith and this was a significant investment. Rick and I discussed several blades before we made a decision and the result was more than I ever expected. I have a sword that I only use on special occassions as this is a blade that I will pass on to some lucky friend(I have no children) in my final years. I am currently preparing to order a more reasonable blade for tameshigiri and am considering one of blades that Rick has available. I would recommend emailing or phoning Rick and discussing your needs and price range that you want to stay within. Often he will have something available or can find you something that will suit your needs. I would recommend both The Sword Store and Noysuiaido. Good Luck with your decision. Jerry:old_man:
