Ok, I just want to clarify something. This says Kendo Demonstration. Now, please correct me if i'm wrong, but if this is Kendo, then i've been practising something completely different!

Does anyone know what it actually is?

I could be wrong, but it looks like a style of Aiki-budo to me.
In some Aikido schools, the Jo and Bokken are taught at higher levels.

Nice ukemi.

If I'm not mistaken, that's a demo video from some Aikido dojo (the kanji are not that clear, but I'm almost sure it reads "Aikido" on the banner visible on the back wall). The initial bokken moves seem to be what is called aikiken, practiced in some Aikido variants/dojos to give the students an approach on the basis where many aikido techniques come from. The are also some wrist locks and some jo work.

Seems like a regular aikido dojo showing some advanced stuff (can't say how advanced, I'm not that into Aikido). Guess the guy who posted the video just had no idea what it was.

Then again, this is becoming too regular in youtube, with people posting stuff labeled as "kendo" that has nothing to do with it.

EDIT:
Damn, Neil beat me to the reply.... AGAIN! =P

Me too...

It's traditional Aikido and the Bokken and Bo techniques are taught from the very beginning.

Hakama are typically only worn by higher grades and this is also evidenced by the speed of execution of the techniques and the 'small circle' nature of the throws..

It's a modern interpretation of "Jesus upturns the tables of the moneylenders".

Look at the page again, they changed the name to aikido

P.S. It's not completely bad aikido, but calling it "advanced" - it could definitely use some work
