you know you're getting old when you have to slow your reading down in order to translate the writings of those who have been around only during the computer age, instant messenger, cell phone text messages, etc.

"hi duz ne1 know..."

sheesh... thank god you folks have a spellcheck when you have to write something official (not that spellcheck is ever used or 100% accurate if you don't know the right word to begin with)...

I find that it's harder to type in leet speak than in plain english, or whatever language you choose to speak in.

See, when you write this "leet speak" all the time, you can't even write regular, cogent English. You start to sound like an idiot -- uneducated and illiterate.

Is it any surprise that no one takes you seriously?
Is it any wonder that someone leads you to a link of a troll doll?

absalutle = absolute
eco = echo
wi = with (I'll chalk that up to a typo, though)
enyone = anyone
relavant = relevant
coments = comments
apriciative = appreciative

Just a damn shame you can't even properly spell words from, I assume, your native language. What a great representative of native English-speakers you are.

But more than this, it is an issue of respect to write properly and cogently. By doing this, your post could then be more easily understood by OTHERS on the board whose native language is NOT English. They might even give you a response that actually answers your question.

As it was, you wound up with a link to a troll doll.

Just have some respect for yourself and others on the board. There is no honor in projecting yourself as an English-speaking teenager troll with no common sense and no education.

This goes far beyond using an occasional acronym to say something. OMG, LOL, KWIM?

YMMV,

#1 respect your elders'
#2 respect your betters
tip#1 if you want to be taken seriously, take the time to respect someone and use correct english, and atleast attempt to spell correctly
tip#2 no one likes someone who won't take the time to show respect, and no one likes cocky kids

Since you asked politely and with good spelling, here (http://www.halifaxkendo.org/images/ouch3.gif) it is

Paikea: How about these clowns (http://betterpropaganda.com/images/artwork/Locust_Abortion_Technician-Butthole_Surfers_480.jpg)? This album used to scare me a lot when I was about 5 years old. My dad played it all the time.

I got hit like that at my shodan test some years ago. My men almost got ripped off and I got dropped to the floor pretty hard. It's not a tsuki so much as a horrible repositioning of the shinai while avoiding an attack. That's how the dude managed to thread it underneath my men and get me right on the throat. I was worried they wouldn't pass me if I didn't finish my keiko, so I immediately get up, apoligized, and tried to readjust my men, but they encouraged me to sit down and take a breather.

I had it on video, but it got taped over. I was angry about that.

Klasnikov

I would be pretty upset had someone taped over a video showing a rarerity like a repostioning that turns into a near deadly tsuki.

How dangerous is Tsuki? I've had it done a couple of times, but not to the extent of that poor guy getting knocked on his arse.

Im always frightened someone will lunge forward to tsuki and it'll strike me under the ago.

Hmm.. I asked a guy at my dojo about tsuki and how dangerous it is. He answered that there were hardly any situations when the tsuki slips under the ago and then, he told me, it usually lands somewhere under the plates of the men (how are those things called?). And there is a little tsuki protector under the ago, isn't it?

Could break the collar bone if it misses, I've been told.

If enough force is applied to the point of older armor it might fail. This would have the nasty effect of transvering the force of the blow to the receivers neck(it may crush the windpipe). I know of one or two occasions were had it not been for the fast actions of medics we would have a few less kendoka.

hmm.. I think this is such a situation when some guy says "Hey, Kendo is not for crushing someones head/neck/hands with all force that is possible to apply". In this case this guy is me. I think if you don't tsuki your opponent like you wanna REALLY kill him, this situations shouldn't appear. It's the same with men-strikes: Yeah, they shall be crisp and sharp, but you have to show respect and consideration to your opponent, so the strike shouldn't hurt him much. Bogu shall protect, that's right. But it's not made to strike onto with all force.
But, ok, I'm kinda beginner. Tell me if it isn't possible in some situations to perform a tsuki without too much force. Or something.

XD XD XD

In my experience (haha) the missed tsuki are not so bad, some bruising at worst. Whats a bit more dangerous is when you run on to your opponents shinai and it gets caught under your men.

Note that it says "older armor" (which is of course softer) and not "brand new Mine Men".

Ah ok, no worries. I just know my mine men will live up to its standards. No complaints yet eh.
