Arrrrggg!!!
I cannot believe that Sony is doing this!!!
It's the used games that comprise a large part of my collection!
Otherwise, I could not afford 'em!

Jerks!

Michiyo,

Sounds fine with me. The power of the market. I don't like it if I cannot own it so I am not going to buy anything. If we all feel the same, there will be no profit for them and they will be forced to change it. Simple. It will just take time, but it is not like we are giving up something... we are just not buying into something new...

Regards,

Alex

GamesRadar rumor debunked
by Justin Pinter

There has been a rumor spreading across the internet that the 20GB version of the PS3 console will not have wireless bluetooth technology for the controllers.

GamesRadar.com reported, "Sony has today cleared up the confusion over the differences in specification between the two models of PlayStation 3 - and the cheaper version won't support wireless controllers...instead, gamers will have to make do with retro-style wired-up versions of the increasingly controversial PS3 pad."

It also claimed that the hard drive is not replacable.

However, if you read the Sony Press Release, it states that both versions of the console will ship with a "Wireless Controller (Bluetooth)". Also, in a number of interviews, Phil Harrison has confirmed that hard drive can be changed at any time.

GamesRadar's report is totally false. Have a look at our PlayStation 3 specification for a breakdown of what's included in each package.

i personally dont care for a HDMI output in the near future anyway. component out is fine with me. my only issue is with all the lessor equipment, i would think it would save more than $100 in value. might as well just pay $100 extra for it all upfront. they need to discount the lower end model more for it to be viable.

That's not the same article.
But thanks anyway! I feel for you on the filter, bro!
Major Suckage!
Anyhoo,
Here's what I'm all fizzed up over:

PS3 pre-owned games banned!

[PS3] Sony makes moves to stamp out lucrative second-hand market
Words: Matt Cundy

Wednesday 24 May 2006
High street games shops have been told by Sony that there will be no PS3 pre-owned sections in their stores as it will be illegal for customers to sell any next-gen PlayStation games that they've bought, retail sources have revealed to GamesRadar.

It seems that Sony is planning to adopt a licensing system that will mean gamers won't own the PS3 titles that they've paid money for. Instead, they will only be purchasing the licence to play the game and that the software itself will still be Sony property - meaning that the disc won't be the customer's to sell.

We assume that the thinking behind this move will ultimately be to stop PS3 games being resold several times - which currently snatches potential sales away from Sony - and to counter the impression in consumers' minds that games are only really worth their pre-owned price and are not worth buying new.

When we contacted Sony, it issued us with the following statement: "We have made all of the official announcements at E3 and cannot make any further comments at this time. We will be announcing more news running up to PlayStation 3's launch."

I take that statement as more of a rumor than anything else. I feel that this move is just too illogical to make. One thing that I see is that people see Sony messing up with the price and ability of the PS3 and people enjoy a big company failing, no matter how much they like the company.

I would never buy anything that says, "you dont own it when you buy it, you just now have the right to play it...... bullshit.". Sounds like communism or something. It sounds realy f'd up, and If it is true, I hope sony goes out of business for it(unless it makes buying their games cheaper, then its OK).

Yea, but still you can compare their tech specs OR you can compare games which are released on them, etc...

When it comes to technical details - PS3 is BETTER than Xbox360 :)

cheers,

Well, before totally believing it, I posted this in a place where I knew I'd get a good answer:

Read this, and feel like a bender if you believed it. Read post 13 and check the link as well.

Michiyo, get some brains. And I'd go with the guy there who said "Games Radar sucks". Which from a quick look at it, with shit like this all over it, I would have to agree with.
