Thanks for your time, Blackavar

Hi,
I saw a guy on Ebay selling one about 2 weeks ago. it was approx. $USD38 + Shipping. It would probably be cheaper in my opinion getting your dollars converted to yen and order directly from the ZNKR.
Cheers,

That's outrageous $$ price
The ZNKR Iaido Kata handbook, is translated by Mr Chirs Mansfield 7 dan Iaido - it was finally approved to go by ZNKR in 2004 - and sold like hot cakes. A reprint has already happened I believe.
As I understand it (from when I was last in Japan) it is out on the shelves for less than Y600 (that's ~£3-4 sterling) convert that yourself to US$. I believe its available on the website ZNKR, but I've not looked myself.
At $38 are you surely talking about another book ?! in English ??
Good luck.

Except they don't accept credit card or money order. And enquries have to be faxed, even to find out how much postage to your country is. The iai one is Y500 (the jodo one which I want to get is Y900).
They certainly make it awkward.

few years ago when i got my kendo fundamental (condensed version), i ordered it using email, and bank transfer. if you have bank account and have certain amount in your checking/saving the bank transfer might be less expensive. i forget the guys name, but there is a guy in ZNKR that speaks english and he took the order. he told me if i need anything further just email him.. not sure what his name is.. only email i found in the ZNKR site is jimukyoku@kendo.or.jp (jimukyoku@kendo.or.jp) not sure if that's the right person.. send him an friendly email and see what he says :)

... Ramon Lawrence Sensei has recently written a book covering the 12 kata of ZNKR Iai. I think it has around 13 pages of photos and descriptions covering Ippon Mae!
Visit www.budokan.com.au (http://www.budokan.com.au) for contact details. I think it is around $AUD55.00.
The ZNKR Iai manual is more of a point guide for shimpan rules, grading and tai kai.
In any case they are both worthwhile guide books for your library as memory joggers for your training and knowledge base.

Well, this is the newest one:
https://www.skijournal.co.jp/cgi-local/search.cgi?k.Category=%8C%95%93%B9&t=kendo/cgi_001&k.ISBN=4-7899-2100-X
It is on route to me from the San Francisco Kinokuniya....
If you want something in English, try Unka Kim:

OR, eventhough it is a little dated,

Thanx for the links DCPan,
Looks like Kim's big book of Iaido III would be the one to get for ZNKR.
Thanx again,

Nope...book III is Omori-Ryu per MJER.
You'd want book II, which unfortunately also only has the first ten of 12 seitei gata.

If you're looking for a download pdf of the March 2004 manual. It can be found here. Their bandwidth is pretty slow, so be patient with the download. http://home.tiscali.nl/~xp133972/gallery/2005/ZNKR%20seitei%20IAIDO.pdf
