Obi Questions

I have yet to find a teacher for Iaido and am looking to try and start some of the art. I have a few questions regarding the Obi though, I cannot seem to find anything about them anywhere! If anyone would be so kind as to answer any of my questions I would be greatfull. First, Is the obi worn under or over the Hakama, if under, do the Hakama ties not interfere with the sword? Do you tie the obi in the same method as the Hakama? Is the knot in the obi at the front or the back? And finally, what layer do you put the sword in the obi? Thanks again for any help.

The longer sword is generaly thrust under the top hakama ties and into the second layer of the Obi. Then it comes out above the bottom hakama ties.
