Sorry to be a kill-joy, but why are we giving this stuff a platform on KW forum? The fewer outlets this stuff has the better, I think.

No probs Don, but I thought it an appropriate place to share - i.e. a forum where we actually think rather than just laugh at the arses who post videos of themselves offending others and think it is cool.

This guy is just a comedian, wikipedia etc. Remember that all of his 'victims' have to sign release forms so are in on it at least afterwards, and that according to the wikipedia article, a bunch of them are actors.

Sounds like the MO used in a lot of Japanese prank-themed TV shows. Notably:

I hope someone gives him such a beating that he wouldnt want to make these types of videos. But also so that he physically couldnt make them either, I feel that would be a fair punishment, whether he is serious or not, doesn't make a difference.
BTW, the Muslim video isnt the one that bothered me the most, I had to cut off the Asian one in the middle because I realy couldnt watch it anymore. It realy bothered me.

I am thinking that just being himself is punishment enough.

Ah...the Amazing Racist. Ari Shaffir is a Jewish comedian whose 'act' is basically being a racist to get a reaction from the people he's making fun of. To me, he's full of shit, especially the muslim one...until I see him pull of something equally offensive in a Synagogue I think he deserves a beating from hell. He makes all these racist jokes about other people and religions but not his own...what an asshole.

He obviously wasn't in a mosque, and If he pulled that shit at a real mosque, I think he would be in big trouble. Those are hate crimes, and you go to jail for them.

I hate things like that. Setup or real, it is absoulutely atrocious that someone can ridicule another persons culture just because they are different. There are too many people in the world who are actually like that and worse to be laughing about it.
That is so disrespectful, I can't believe that they would allow that gimp airtime and actual space on the internet.
Comedian or not, he's using bigotry and ignorance to get his cheap laughs and as a Chinese-Canadian. I'm not laughing.
I'm white English and I completely agree with you.
If it is real, I hope that some shopkeeper pulls a shotgun on him...

Yes, they are hate crimes. Not just morally wrong but crimes that contribute in a very real way to actual violence against innocent people. Fanning the flames is sometimes worse than individual violence. I mean he's obviously happy for other folks to go out and do the actual violence for him while he stays safe at home.
To say the victims have to consent at some point isn't enough for me. The history of racism is full of examples of victims who were induced to co operate in their own fate.
He's not "just a comedian", he's not even "just" a racist. What he does publicly advocates race crime.
So I repeat, why is Kendo World Forum giving this a platform and helping to disseminate it?

He's one of the few people on this earth (PM me for a list :D) I would cheap shot as I walked past him in the street. No warning, no explanation, just leave him there spitting teeth. Budo ain't about violence, but for him I'd have a day off.

No. It is not technically a hate crime. A hate crime is a crime that had racial/sexual/whatever motives.
Rape is a crime. Raping white people in particular is a hate crime.
Murder is a crime. Murdering blacks in particular is a hate crime
Assault is a crime. Assaulting a gay person is a hate crime.
Selling things in places of worship is not a crime, however abhorant it may be. Thusly, selling things in a mosque is NOT a hate crime.
The orange-throwing one, is though. The rest arent, they are just horribly rascist.

You don't think incitement to hatred is a crime? Provoking others into hatred? Lets talk about a minority of muslim clerics who are stirring hatred and preaching terrorism. And you wonder why many muslims suffer due the actions of these few promoters of hate.

Hmmm... Absolutely agree with your sentiments there Scott...
Also, agree with DonDon that even giving the links to this sort of trip can be harmful in itself...
Many of the KWForumites (most?) are mature enough to recognise this as jokes without the humour... poor, easy shots, easy targets etc... masquerading as comedy...
Others may not recognise this as attempted humour and might listen to the underlying message without further consideration... history is full of this... Jews are all mean, Muslims are all bigots, Italians are all cowards, Americans are all brash, Irish are all thick and the list is sadly endless... The stereotypes are re-inforced every time the message is heard... that is a 'crime' ... not in the legal sense, but certainly in the moral sense.
Hate crimes are crimes committed purely on the strength of an irrational hatred. Kill him 'cos I hate all people who wear red jumpers... Kill him 'cos he's black... Kill him 'cos he drives a BMW.
Anyway... all of this rambling leads me to suggest that a health warning should be put on posts like this as there are impressionable youngsters who read the threads... Maybe put it in Flames rather than lounge...?

Gregory, just a while ago, a young man got charged and convicted of a hate crime for throwing a pigs head in a Mosque while the people were praying, and he is in jail(i believe). Bringing a pig into a mosque is a hate crime, because it is well known that Muslims dont eat pork, and he did it because of that. So bringing in these things into the Mosque, which are also forbidden to Muslims(these scandalous pictures of women, ect), and doing it because you know it will anger them, and you do it because you are racist, makes it a hate crime. Also, walking into any place of worship and cursing out the people, because of their religion ,or ethnicity, is also a hate crime.
You dont have to kill, rape, or assault anyone for it to be a hate crime.
Remember what you said, hate crimes have to have racial motives. He was doign these things because of the peoples race. The only reason why he wasnt getting charged for hate crimes, was because he was doing these things with actors. He wasnt in a real Mosque, and he was never doing these things to non-actors, because he is a coward.

Main Entry: hate crime
Function: noun
: a crime that violates the victim's civil rights and that is motivated by hostility to the victim's race, religion, creed, national origin, sexual orientation, or gender
Example: car bombings of civil rights activists
So this can be interpretted in a few ways. Example, selling those things in a mosque.
1. The victim's rights are being violated, as the victim should be allowed to pray in comfort and piece without being disturbed with his religious beliefes being respected. That is a violation of civil rights.
2. However, selling anything in a Mosque is not a crime in the eyes of the law. It is highly disrespectful and frowned upon, but by doing so one is not breaking any laws.
So, these are not hate crimes. True, they are inciting racial hate, which is a crime, however what this man is doing IS NOT a crime. It is disrespectful and if he pulled anything like that on me I would plunge my fingers into his eyes, however he isn't breaking the law by doing them.
What he is doing is inciting racial hate, which is a crime. But is not committing any hate crimes.
Good website here http://da.co.la.ca.us/hate/hcdefined.htm

I am not referring to the 'selling' of the products. But of the products themselves. Like I said about the fellow that threw a pigs head into the mosque and was charged for a hate crime. If he threw something else, he might not have been charged.
So if you go into a Mosque, selling racial/religous derogatory material, for the purpose of disrespecting the people, then it is a hate crime.
Disregard the example in your post about the car bombing, because that is the most extreme example. It doesnt have to kill someone to be a hate crime.
Any lawers in the forum that can clarify this for us?

Yes...but its more hypocrisy than anything. He sits there behind a bullshit excuse that its comedy...but do we see him in a Synagogue selling bacon sandwiches or T-shirts saying "My parents went to Auschwitz and all I got were their dentures."
