Ever heard of this? The Wilhelm Scream is a popular sound effect that's appeared in countless action films over the years.*

I found this "fan tribute" on Youtube. It makes for 3 and half minutes of solid entertainment:

I've noticed this everytime I've heard it, but no one else seems to. It was in all of the LOTR movies, the new star wars movies, and I think in Spiderman as well.

The lack of wider-spread recognition is all the more remarkable when you consider that Jedi, Revenge of the Sith, Raiders, Temple of Doom, And Return of the King all feature two Wilhelms a piece. Jedi even crams two into a single scene.

I just watched the opening gun battle of The Wild Bunch to verify the presence of a Wilhelm Scream. Unmistakable.

On that note:
Why is it in old Westerns, when white cowboys get shot and fall off a cliff, they all go, AAAAAaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!! But when Native Americans or other minorities get shot and fall off a cliff, they all go: "Aiiiiiieeeeeeeeee!"
