I'm so excited! I get my new dou soon! Been dropping it into posts in other theads, but just saw a picture of it so am very hyper... just had to dedicate a thread to it!

It's going to be pink!

have any of u other ladies got interestingly coloured dou? I'm very tempted to get some white men and dou himo and dye them the same colour (my fella has red himo) but i think it might be overkill... what do u think

i can imagine her dancing with her new dou singing aerosmith's pink already.... :bandit:

I'll bet you a Hiyashichuka lunch that you can buy those pants from an autoseller (vending machine) for about 600 yen.

Lone Kitten, I think it sounds AWESOME!!!! Most people are so afraid to look different. If I could, Id get red bogu like the korean chicks in Volcano High. I would love to have a really dark matallic red or blue dou to go with my white bogu. At the moment its black.

I'm with you 100%... It would be excelent having this red or pink or whatever colour bogu. Here in Chile, me having a white on would be good enough.

PURPLE WITH DRAGONS ON
if i did kendo still id have that anyways. i have purple and cream sageo to match my monstuki. and a water dragoon/demon tsuba to match my fishy menuki.

pink himo may be overkill, but if you may as well go all the way with the pink thing.
remember though, its your kendo that should stand out, not you. and isnt it traditional to bash pretty new do anyways?:nervous:sorry to put a downer on your pink.
:p

lol, thanks paburo... I probably do own hello kitty panties somewhere - i've got shedloads of hello kitty stuff from when i was out in japan!! I'll remember to put that song on as soon as i get it!

Glad that all the girlies think its cool... I probably won't go for the pink himo too, but the dou is ace, still can't get over how cool it is!

okok that was a LOT of laughing....

anyway, I think that the colour idea is great, the only thing is that i think if averyone starts using colours, then in that case is better to use black, coz noone will notice those colours... ok u know what I mean.

anyway, in my case I use a red drawings (kind of metallic) in a black do (also black hakama an gi), I think black n red rocks, I also wanna buy red himo for the bogu, red himo and tsuka for the shinai and black leather parts (im gonna check out about this but as far as I know this isnt against any rule or stuff like that), and the thing that I like most is that the do REALLY looks thet is has been used and it is atomic bomb-proof (i dont like shining bling bling like-brand-new stuff, a vintage look seems great to me)

and besides, everyone ( me included, and I know you love it too, dont be so shy) LOVE to leave the first hyaku-do mark on a brand new bogu!

I have no bogu at the moment, but talking about co-ordination, my Gi and Hakama are white with white embriodry, my Tsuba is red and white, my tenagui is red and white, and I tend to wear red hot pant knicker type things....

Yep, I am the club bint.

Can't imagine that anyone would get upset about your shinaibag. I have seen people with shinaibags that have a 70's-like pattern. Very colorful. Not really my cup of tea (I actually like the minimalistic stuff ;)) but I can't say it has bothered me or anyone else in the dojo.

But as always. Rules might be different at your club, so check with the people there first.

Nice one Kitten...!

I've stopped kendo to focus on archery now I've made my home nation squad, but in a similar way, I've put pink strings on my bow. And pink glittery wraps on my arrows...

Then I outshoot the guys and try convionce them it's all down to the pink strings!

Gotta have pics up here. DO you have it on white bogu or indigo?

TTFN.
