Hi All,
I'm thinking of going over to Tokyo for 2 weeks - 1 month and am seeking accommodation. I'm thinking of looking for those rental apartments where they are fully furnished - but not sure if they are available for such a short time. I suppose something similar to apartments (western or japanese style) will do as well. Does anyone know if they exist and if there are any cheap ones around?
Website links would be great as well!!

hi, long time lurker, first time poster. those rental apartments you're talking about are called "weekly mansions". if you can read japanese, i suggest you try this site http://www.wmt.co.jp
if not, try this one http://www.tokyommn.com/mmn/endex.html
they run about 3000-7000yen a day, depending on the size, location, and how long you are staying. there are a lot more companies out there besides these two links. search "weekly mansions" on google to find them.
i am actually going to japan for 2 weeks as well in sept, and will be staying in a weekly mansion.

You could try leopalace.com or something like that. A little expensive, but furnished and all utilities paid and internet if I am remembering correctly.
Another Tip: Live somewhere in Yokohama on the Tokyuu Toyoko Line. Yokohama rent is very cheap compared to Tokyo and so is the Toyoko line, especially compared to any JR lines. You could save half your rent and only live 20 to 30 minutes out which is very manageable for the money you can save.

No disrespect intented, One of this things that I dislike about Japan is the lack of good bargains with anything. I have yet to reconcile the words "Cheap" amd "Japan" together. LOL
If you DO find a cheap place to stay, please let us know!
