I was googling zatoichi and a thing came up about talking about his style he calls "Zatoichi ryu: The blind mans sword". Is this a joke? And why the hell is it called zatoichi ryu?

so a guy named robn meeks watches the zatoichi movie series and gets the idea that the "moves" in the movie could make a cool, ass-kicking style. so he practices imitating the moves and teaches them to students as an established style or "ryu." zatoichi style from movie = zatoichi ryu. the fact that he calls it that immediately makes it laughable since he's basing a style off a fictional character in a movie. his website http://www.zatoichi-ryu.com/ is not working so i don't know how far he has taken this. he is, however, trying to get this film into production:

god help us all.
p.s. this was already discussed at length in another thread: http://www.kendo-world.com/forum/showthread.php?t=2929

I think I read somewhere that the person who played Zatoichi, Shintaro Katsu, had a son involved in the films which there was an incident where someone was killed because they used a shinken instead of a movie prop.

Bravely Bold Sensei Robin rode forth from Camelot-ken.
He was not afraid to die, oh Brave Sensei Robin.
He was not at all afraid to be killed in nasty ways.
Brave, brave, brave, brave Sensei Robin!
He was not in the least bit scared to be mashed into a pulp.
Or to have his eyes gouged out and his elbows broken.
To have his kneecaps split and his body burned away
And his limbs all hacked and mangled, Brave Sensei Robin.
His head smashed in
And his heart cut out
And his liver removed
And his bowels unplugged
And his nostrils raped
And his bottom burnt off
And his penis split
Brave Sensei Robin ran away. ("No!")
Bravely ran away, away. ("I didn't!")
When danger reared its ugly head,
He bravely turned his tail and fled. ("No!")
Yes, brave Sensei Robin turned about ("I didn't!")
And gallantly he chickened out. ("I never did!")
Bravely taking to his feet
He beat a very brave retreat, ("All lies!")
Bravest of the brave, Sensei Robin! ("I never!")
He is packing it in,
And packing it up,
And sneaking away,
And buggering off,
And chickening out,
And pissing off home,
Yes, bravely he is throwing in the sponge.
