I have seen in books and on the internet listings mentioning a Boston University Kendo Association, yet the University itself can't seem to find any contact information on it, whether phone number or email.

So... it is either nonexistant now, or not truly connected with BU despite the name connection.

If anyone knows anything about it then let me know.

Bu Kendo assoication did exist, but apparently the club needs to be restarted now. Probably from member graduating. I actually wish to restart the kendo club, but I'll need a lot of support. If anyone see's this, and is at/going to BU, please reply soon or message me. Thanks.

I'm an alum. I would love to practice with you there and help out if it fit my schedule, but in order to get it started there needs to be someone currently at BU to get it up and running. And it would be good if you could find a sensei willing to take charge of things. I am sure there are lots of people like me around who could confidently run a practice in terms of what drills and things to do, but aren't necessarily qualified to teach. So finding a real sensei would be important, but first there needs to be a group of people interested in started the club and you can work from there. PM me if something gets put together and I would love to visit and help out. This thread is so old, but it would be cool if someone could get the BU kendo up and running again.

i am a entering freshman for the fall of 2007 to boston university! i was just wondering if there is a kendo club available.

Wow, this dug up an old thread!

There is a club there now. I saw them at this year's Harvard Shoryuhai tournament so they do exist. When you get to BU, just ask around or look for the list of clubs or something to get the contact info.

I haven't checked this site in ages. I hope you're already a member by now. We're up and running, and alums are more than welcome to join practices.

Spring 2008 schedule:

Sargent gym: Mondays 8-10

(Wednesday and Thursday practices..we play by ear, depending on availability)
