I have been reading many posts that have included this person, and I just cant believe that he is a 4th DAN is there anyone who can verify this because he seems such a big mouth. Does this misterkurukuru not realise that he is embarrassing himself by the way in which he is acting. I know many of you might object to me saying this but I just could not help myself after reading so many of his foul mouthed posts. I think this person needs someone to teach him what it means to be a 4th DAN. Maybe we can use this thread as way of educating misterkurkuru about what it means to be a person of good character. Who agrees? If so please give your opinions on how misterkurukuru can improve himself.

Nah, I'd have a word with Mr M. Shikai at the WKC next month. That'll calm him down a bit.

So yeah, 4Dan or whatever is just limited to Kendo. Our lives are richer then just Kendo or the KW forums.

I've said before directly to kurukuru in posts that maybe if he posted serious responses to things on a regular basis then he would be taken more seriously and maybe remove his troll status...

HOWEVER...

By starting threads such as this, that address people you don't necessary like directly, you are only feeding into his black hole that he comments about all the time. Congrats kurukuru, more mass is being sucked into your happy little black hole.

There is alot less stress if you just ignore posts that have no value to you. When you argue it out on the forum, it only feeds to the amount of fluff that shows up.

And yes, I realize that I am adding fuel to the fire with this. It is rare, but occasionally I do something stupid like this. I will shut up now.

O.K.....I can see where this is going and I dont think anyone will like it.

yes, most of find mrkurukuru rather disturbing in this board, you may have good intention in trying to re-educate the guy, but the only reply you're gonna get is "your the one that needs re-education" sort of answer, so its really pointless. No offence but next time you post please stick to asking and answering questions that is worth posting (please dont take this the wrong way). If you dont like what you see (eg. irrelevant one-liner post like "whahahaha") just ignore it.

Gatts

Yes maybe you are right that this thread might lead to something stupid, but maybe as a community we can help this person to better himself. Maybe he is just feeling lonely at home and frustrated, hence why he is acting like a 10 year old on this forum. Hopefully, misterkurukuru can take this as a positive thread and use this thread to reflect upon himself of why he projects the image of being such a bad person. Hopefully, if he can understand this we might see something turn out good. I know its a long shot, but I guess he deserves a little hope.

Lovely sentiment Gatts, but I gotta agree with the others, a waste of time. Kurukuru-like behaviour is endemic on the internet. Some personality-types seem to get a kick out of stirring up controversy and then sitting back and saying "And he saw what he had made, and he saw that it was good -Mwahahahahaaaaa!"
Save your compassion for actual sentient beings, not comglomerations of pixels.

Re-education,

You sound like a pinko commie.

Ben, you should talk about stirring controversy. All you people out there talk about a yondan trash talking b.s. Ben says he'd like to spit in the Prime Minister's face and called the President of the United States a dickhead. Where were you then, crying for re-education. Is this the standard for yondan in Aus to trash talk?

Who the hell is trash talking and why are others not bashing Ben for his inflammatory, complaining, whining, and US hating statements? You guys have good yondan over there, yeah, OOH I want to emulate Ben. Good example, Ben.

Mingshi,

Are you going crying to the teacher because you can't handle the forum? Waaaaaaaaaah! Grow up and handle what you helped to create.

Drugs and drive-bys are a part of the hood. I know first hand, but that dont make it right. Leadership does not come by hiding behind a lemming. Using All the other lemmings were throwing themselves into the sea. So I jumped too. is not an excuse. I don't buy it.

I dont know if I am taking it personally, Im not that connected to my inner self. However, if you are Ben S. that took the photographs, I say this with all sincerity I liked the black and white photograph with the shinais very, very much.

you people keep saying ignore the kurukuru man , but yet you keep coming back for more, we the members of the SCI DISCUSS AND SHARE OUR OPINIONS, but when we do it its whinning, bashing, or whatever .we compete in at least 7 tournaments a year here, so yeah your gonna hear about the judging , different people, you guys think we were bashing people in the North/South thread buts its a long tradition between the two federations, so if you dont like it , dont read it ..

If I see a fellow kendoka hitting a dog with his Shinai on the street, of course I am not going to "handle" the situation. Reporting to the Sensei is the best option.

i highly doubt that Shikai-sensei and Yoshida-sensei enjoy in any way the bad reputation some of their 'dojo' members are spreading on the internet.

if my sensei knew i had sunk the dojo's name to underground levels and that not even japanese kenshi want to do kendo interchange with us, he would probably kick me out of the school without hesitation.

"HYPOCRATE!!!!! Hypocrite Hypocrite Hypocrite Hypocrite Hypocrite Hypocrite Hypocrite Hypocrite Hypocrite Hypocrite Hypocrite Hypocrite Hypocrite Hypocrite Hypocrite Hypocrite! Thanks for entering the kurukuru black hole" -- mr. kurukuru

Proof positive that kurukuru is a child. Would you stand and argue with a two-year-old? Of course not. If he's actually an adult, then he's a kitchen-lobotomy survivor or something and should be pitied and not encouraged. When you read his posts just shake your head and click your tongue as if you're admonishing an infant, and reassure anyone in earshot that this guy is a sub-standard kendoka, whatever age he may be.

It's a shame, really. I thought I saw a glimmer of intelligent discourse in one or two of his posts a while ago. Hopefully he'll keep trying and someday he might actually be helpful to someone, rather than simply raising the hackles of everyone around him just for his own amusement... in other words, a valuable member of the community. (crosses fingers) Hopefully.

Mingshi,

You've found a way to lower yourself into the depths of detritus, and the childish glee with which you do it is pathetic.

Do everyone a favor and videotape this tattle-tale discussion you have with Shikai Sensei. Make sure you get a close up on Shikai Sensei's face as you are describing Mr. Kurukuru's behavior on the forum. Also make sure you get a close up of your face when Shikai Sensei tells you what he thinks.

This will be the second edition of KWF's Funniest Videos. I would buy a copy.

Hmmm every picture of mine now costs 3 tenugui. Since in a film a second has 24 frames, a 15-minute interview of this sort will cost you...

3*24*60*15 = 64, 800 tenugui

There is no such thing as "free lesson" in my dictionary.

Hongsermeier
12-06-2003, 02:46 AM
800 tenugui???

For that price I'd rather hop a flight and come visit you in person.

As for Shikai Sensei...It takes a certain attitude or mind set(confidence) to practice kendo. I've only practiced in his dojo once, but I think he would not complain of kurukuru's attitude. You must have total confidence in yourself. Throw yourself into the attack with total confidence. Will yourself to win. The samarai spirit. If kurukuru's post's do nothing else they get you to think. Either to disagree or agree. :cross_eye

New comer of this Forums group, and Ive read so many topics that doesnt seem to benefit kendo or anything. Especially from Mr. Kuru. He seems more like a person who study Kenjutsu and not that of Ken-DO. Maybe he is confused between art of Kenjutsu and Kendo??

Hongsermeier,

I think you misunderstood me also.

Kenjutsu is study of Sword TECHNIQUE ONLY. If you compare people who study kenjutsu for 15 years Vs. Person who study Kendo for 15 years. 9 out of 10, Kenjutsu students will come out on top. Now Ken-DO is the study of way of sword. By that, we learn self-esteem, self-respect as well as respect for and from others. Mr. Kuru doesnt seem to show any of these characteristics. I dont know Mr. Kuru and I dont doubt his abilities to Beat peoples up. But from many of his remark, it seems to me that his ego hides on top of his emotions and his aggression, and he attempts to defend himself with the use of Kenjutsu (ken technique) or other deceptive techniques (talk down to other kendo-ka show no respect for other peoples feeling ....etc). They are people who can win this way, but the win is no great honor either. I also think if he does not recongnize and restrain his own ego, one day it will grow stronger and ultimately lead to his own destruction.

p.s. I must apologies for my broken English.
Maybe I can write them in Chinese or Japanese and you guys can help me translate them?

I'll have to agree with Brad on this one....not only would Shikai
sensei not be particularly interested in your opinion of the enigma that is KURUKURU he probably wouldn't appriceate you speaking poorly about his students. ........ He was just at Venice Dojo the other day speaking quite highly of Kurukuru and even went so far as to compliment him on the quality of his traditional dancing techniques :beard:

Perhaps someone should print out all Kurukuru remarks in this forum and mail them to his Sensei(s). I have a feeling his Senseis opinion will soon change. But I suspect his Sensei did not know about Kurukuru eccentric behavior in the information highway. I hope in the real world he is totally opposite of what I see here.

"Not to mention, you are gaijin. Gaijin who show no respect."

So some people are being disrespectful... okay, can't argue that.

However, "not to mention, you are gaijin", now that comment is blantantly not cool, to put it lightly. When I was learning in Japan, I was happy to see that despite my kendo being beginners kendo, I was still taken seriously and no one whom I practiced with in or out of my dojo ever just wrote me off as a gaijin. But to read that comment, HaiHai, that's just not cool. You may not be directing it at me, but to see that directed at anyone is ridiculous.

Sorry to everyone who wants the Forum to get back on track and talk about Kendo again, but that comment really bothers me.

She promised me tons of pics if I sent her just one McGill tenugui... I did that and now she doesn't even talk to me anymore. She used me! USED ME!!!!! I fell so cheap and violated now... :(

As for re-educating kurukuru... this is another dumb thread. The title is dammed sinister at any rate ("Nineteen-Eighty-Four" anyone?)

Jakob got it exactely right in another thread: Kurukuru is not taking himself seriously and neither should we. If you don't like to read his stuff then just ignore it. I only have two gripes: 1) He's not funny, but then again neither am I. 2) A 4th dan should have some excellent anecdotes and advice to tell us but he doesn't... and that just sucks.

I, a 0 kyu kendoka, am a kohai to misterkuru, so I cannot give any lessons to re-educate misterkuru.
However, if you need any sleazy pick up lines, call me. Here's lesson one.

"Hey baby, are those space pants... because your a$$ is out of this world."

Disclaimer: All lessons will be sleazy/tactless and can only work on true bimbos and women who have had one too many to drink... or girls who think you are cute regardless of what you say. I refer to that as the "Tom Cruise factor".

That quote actually is very similar to the quote in Dao De Tsing (My God, I hope I spelled the name right. it's been a while since I've read the book) anyways, it's by Lao Tsu. And it goes like this. "Those who talk do not know, those who know do not talk" interesting huh? how easter and western philosophy can resemble each other at times, almost like carbon copies,. as for re-educating mr. kurukuru. .. what was that thing Jesus said when he saved the woman (was she a prostitue?) from being stoned to death outside of jerusalem? he said "let those of you who have never committed a crime to be the first to throw the stone". I suppose he really isn't all that nice, but that's just him. What are you going to do? we can't expect utopia. I often find myself deleting posts to threads after having written a good 300 words to address some of the injustice and misconception I see in people's posts. Because I always ask myself "is it my job to educate them?" and the answer is always "no, it's their sensei's job" hope this helps.

Well, Hai Hai's comment was pretty funny in a cynical sarcastic kinda sense. And that's just him. Most of the time, I just laugh along. (Even when I don't get the joke. hahahahaha. j/k) I guess the person who gets picked on just have to be the bigger man and laugh it off. Like I do. And hey, by the way that's not an invitation to pick on me from now on!
