Ben has commented that the forum used to be good and that to go back and look. Well, I did, and it did not take long to find these two fine examples of informative, compassionate threads.

Yeah, right the forum was better before the SC Invasion. You were being rude to each other before we got here. So do not make it sound like this was a church group and everybody loved each other before SCI.

We just set the table, and you eat like starving hyenas. We are the flavor of the month, that is all.

Nothing has changed but the players. Then again, some of the players are still playing.

That is to some extent true, but it was nowhere near as bad as it is now...just look at the most 'popular' threads...they got bugger all to do with kendo..and the new 'style' threads with insults in the title doesnt help either.
The noise-to-signal ratio has certainly drasticly gone up.

I will concede to you that the timbre has changed to a degree.

But complaining about judging is still kendo related. Gohan poll is just for fun and no harm in that. I think some take themselves too seriously and vise versa take us too seriously.

I'm rushing to go to work but will look into who starts the kurukuru bashing threads. But I think it is safe to say it is not SCI. So those on the higher side of the fence is not so high, eh.

Yes, but unfortunatly the complaing about judging ended becoming first complaining about people complaining about judging..and, IMO, to a large extent due to the delivery. Yes, I've stopped taking Kurukuru too seriously, but it did take awhile..I would much rather, though, see him sharing his kendo-knowledge with the rest of us instead of all the banter.
As for the Kurukuru-bashing threads, well, they're far worse IMO. I can't always keep my mouth shut and be polite when people are being stupid, but to deliberatly insult them in a thread of it's own which got no other purpose, is stupid.

I concur, to isolate one person for a bashing in its own thread is not cool. Other "bashing" threads contain other names and IMO, to borrow the phrase, more tongue in cheek.

My looking back into posts is taking longer than I anticipated. Haven't forgotten. Who knows, what I will find there. I might have to eat my words. But a wild guess says I don't think so.

Okay here is what I’ve found. In addition to the above stated we have:

Opponents with lower kamae than Mr. K IQ By: Confound I’d say ½ point cuz it was kendo related

Nihonjin as US champ By: Mr Kurukuru ½ point cuz it was kendo related.

SCI = ½ point Others 3 –1/2 point

Hmmm seems like Others like are the offenders, no? Also there was some mighty fine reading; remember Don Lubo? Or Racial differences/tension questions? Seems like Ares likes to hit and run. I see a pattern here.

Many of you have been railing on Confound long before SCI was on the scene. You’ve been bickering amongst yourselves for a long time.

You make a challenge, I have accepted, and my conclusion is that you are deluding yourselves that SCI is the bad guy. You were there already. We are just the new flavor, and what a gooooood flavor it is.

I like the bashing threads, its stops the pomposity you see sometimes on BBS. You get some real self opinionated people on them that crack me up...love 'em!!! best one I had was some girl tried to flame me... but didnt know what she was talking about... she got flamed by about 30 other people straight after. Serves her right. Hahahahaha!!!
