View Full Version : Am I doing something wrong?

Every time I try to post or reply to a message (granted I've only tried it a few times, but it has happened very time), after logging in, and composing the message, when I click on the "Preview Message" button I get a message that I'm not logged in. I then have to back up, copy my message to the clipboard, log in again, then paste my message, then I can post it.

I have a DSL connection so I don't think I'm dropping from my ISP. Any ideas?

Thanks,

Steve

P.S. Of course when I tried it with this post, everything went smoothly.

Steve,
I am curious to see what everyone has to say on this topic. The same damn thing happens to me everytime I post. Very frustrating...

Are you guys allowing your browser to accept cookies?

it might have to do something with the temporary internet files and the size of your cache.

everytime i clean it, i have to login again.

Hello,
Well, when I first signed up this happend to me quite often. The solution was to go under the "Edit_Options" tab on the user cp and change the browse board with cookies option to yes.
Hope that helps!
Thanks,
W.W.

You have to set your preferences, and allow cookies
Had the same problem in the beginning

I've had the cookies preference set correctly since the beginning, and I'm still getting the error...

My cookies have always been turned on. I was thinking it had something to do with me "occasionaly" sending messages from work(Gov job). Apparently not if other people are having the same problem. :cross_eye

I've got a totaly different problem. Suddenly(as in sometime between 12 noon today and 10pm) posters have gotten on my 'ignore' list without me putting them there. Heck I never even found the bloody thing more or less put anyone on it.

How did you solve the mystery? The same mystery is happening to me...

The poster in question(I had to look to see if anyone else met with the same fate) has been bounced from the forum and all their posts deleted. Why it shows them as 'IGNORED' is still a mystery.....

I may be completely wrong, but this forum looks like a phpBB, and another Forum I am on sometimes makes members login twice. After you login, check the next page to see if you are logged in.

isn't php the type of ligic programing that goes into forums and such (like html and java and nuke ...)

also if you can't figure it out and you are afraid you typed something stupid just post it and "edit post" if there is something wrong.
