I do admire one of my class kenshis, Megumisan, she's a 2º dan and always laughing kedoka.

Of course my wife is #1. Our dojo couldn't run without her.
Teresa Anderson Sensei and Reiko Barr Sensei are two women I've seen in the Pacific Northwest who I think are doing very good Kendo. I especially admire Anderson Sensei for her refined manners and poise.

All of 'em.
hehe.
Seriously it would be Barr-sensei from GKA. She always helps me when I visit and puts me with amazing sensei for keiko. Just a great person with twice her weight in heart. You can see her on youtube. All florida championship finals. Our group also has a visiting nidan that comes through every once in a while. She's sooo nice and has a kiai that can shatter concrete.

My first sensei, mikaela. When shes around, you always notice like one mile ahead, because of her uber-kiai.

Chan Sensei of SF dojo. As said before, many things I do right I owe to her. She took my footwork from the worst in our dojo, to actually decent foot work. She really always pushed me on the basics, and even when it was frustrating I always came out better for it.:nervous:

I would have to say Susan Bonar from Perth, who I see at comps and so on. She is friendly, helpful and kicks ass. I aspire to be like her as a kendoka.
Also Kate Sylvester from Victoria. Men poo themselves when they know they have to fight her. My life will be complete when I can inspire that reaction. :]
Plus she's a really nice chick.

Not sure if this article (http://www.blackpoolcitizen.co.uk/news/newsheadlines/display.var.936739.0.kendo_kim_is_a_champ.php) has been posted here before.
Of course, my faves are all Canadian and friends of mine. Good luck to the women of Team Canada this year, coached by Wendy Robillard (nee Nakano).

There is Ms. Ah-Reum Byun (KOR4, in column c, in the WKC women's individual bracket). She is a graduate of the Yong In University and a wicked kendoka. And everytime she's on TV, the commentators all mention how she could/should be in the Miss Korea pageant.

So she's a Kumdo/Kendo player AND is considered Miss Korea quality? My kind of lady. ;)
As for a faw women kendoka this list lack a true heroine.
Noriko NO sensei, kyoshi 7. dan from Chiba Shofukan dojo.
This lady is definately kicks ass, is a great teacher and extremely warm hearted person.
On top of gaining kyoshi 7. dan, she is also a wife, mother and has a steady job.
I go for her for andvice and inspiration.
I must also raise another name at the same time; Rie SATO sensei, kyoshi 7. dan, professional kendo coach from Kasei University, Tokyo.
These two ladies are likely to be some of the first women ever to gain the 8. dan when the time comes.

My favorite female kenshi are the women that show up to practice in Laramie week after week.
~They keep showing up inspite of me.
~They get out on the floor and consistently exceed the expectations.
~They never complain about my inability to lead Kendo practice, especially since they've practiced with other sensei who are much more qualified than I'm ever likely to be.
~They make me work hard for every target, and it isn't getting any easier.
~We have a lot of fun and still get something accomplished. :D
~They make an effort to participate, comprehend, practice on their own, and provide outstanding examples for new students to follow.
~They once made a small comic-strip of me to remind me of my shenanigans.
~They all come from different backgrounds, different parts of Wyoming, the US, and the world; but they always give their best effort.
I could list several more reasons but I don't want to embarass them; just in case one of them stumbles across this thread.
Last but not least:
Eunice Chan Sensei for giving me a ride back to the hotel after some long days at the NCKF seminar last year, as well as a bottle of woodlock oil, and the Bokuto Ni yoru translation. Generous and warm person, but she nearly knocked me on my hindparts for not giving a good effort in ji-geiko. A well deserved tsuki  that I'll never forget!

My inspiration is Michiko Komaki. Won the Swedish championships after 1½ years of training, got recruited by the national squad and recently did well in the European kendo championships, and is yet to be 1 kyu.
I started training when she won the first gold, and she's been a role model too me since. Not for her great kendo skills, but for her fighting spirit. Although her kendo skillz rokkz :D

Komuro Kicks ass too - Any gil that can do Jodan at that level gets brownie points from me!
But my fave, of course, has to be my soon to be mrs., and not just 'cause she's my other half! - 4th dan with 20yrs kendo experience - she kicks my ass all over the place!

This past April I got to see the Womens team of SCKF vs NCKF & the Cal North/South Taikai...I was so amazed. The most exciting matches i have seen this year so far.
