Mostly metal or some derivate of it.
Favourite bands include In Flames, Dark Tranquillity, Rammstein and Lacuna Coil.
But my current playlist also holds room for TATU, Evanescence and various movie and game soundtracks (Team America World Police and the soundtrack from Quake are two favourites in that genre).

Why not Kenzan? I believe that people like Curtis Mayfield, Gil Scott-Heron and Amiri Baraka take meaningful poems and put them to music creating lyrics... Sir Bill of Shat took meaningful lyrics and turned them into poetry... to music.... Oh yes... I forgot Kenny Loggins!

Total Science, High Contrast, Kubiks, Logistics, Bungle, Marky & XRS, Cyantific etc.
But if you check my iTunes, you would see a large array of different styles.

My all time favorites since I was 15 are Marilyn Manson and Nine Inch Nails.Just cant get over manson's voice and trent's lyrics!
Other than that I like Ebm,Power noize,electro-industrial gothish stuff(but not goth).
(like wumpscut, lights of euphoria, feindflug, vnv nation to name a few)
Hip-hop and rap,like twista,pitbull,lil rob etc .
60s stuff,classical,soundtracks (david lynch's movies in particular),ambient,trance and more.
All kinds of music have something to offer,I guess.Especially if its really underground, way off the mainstream, then it gets really interesting.
(When starting to talk about music,I can never stop )
Oh and lately I cant get through a day without listening to Gnarles Barkles' "crazy"
Another all time classic favorite band that I dont know how to describe their music : My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult :smoker:

Mh, let's see... I do have few favourites:
- Fiddler's Green (Irish Independent Speed Folk) www.fiddlers.de
- The Whitlams
I also like loads of songs I can't think of now...
Lemon Tree, Mad World, Winds of Change, I Don't Like Mondays, Opportunity, and lot's of old stuff. :) Mostly those with interesting/intelligent lyrics.
Don't mind a bit of punk-rock, rock or something similar from time to time, either. Reggae can be good as well.
But I do have dislikes:
hiphop, rap, heavy metal, etc
Oh, and I also like NENA!! :D

I have to say my favourite at the moment is Evenescence "Call me when youre sober". If you can sing along to that and hold the notes as long as her, kiaiing kirikaishi in one breath is a piece of piss, as they say.
I use it as a warmup on the way to training - although with the car windows up, I sound like a cat getting stepped on. I dare anyone else to try it and let me know what they think. Has to be that particular song.
Another favourite is the French chick Camille. She is amazing.

Nice timing on the thread considering radio "sweeps week" is coming up. And the only reason I know that is this year I get to be a ratings person :) Arbitron Ratings sent me a radio diary for Oct 26 - Nov 2 and I keep track of what radio I listen to during that time at home, car etc. Pretty cool.. I have never taken part in one of these before... only seen the results in the newspapers and station self-promos. Would also explain the Howard Stern commercials I keep seeing on my T.V.
I doubt my little booklet will bring back high heels, lace and spiked leather.... but I can dream :D

Of course you do. You also listen to Kraftwerk, drive a Mercedes, and live in a modern home with round windows. Freak show.
Actually I love Kraftwerk.
Off subject, but this will bother me until I know. Lucy, what is the name of that German sitcom from the '80s where the children are left home alone and have all kinds of misadvetures? There is a little boy who causes the most trouble and somehow finds a way to end up naked in every episode. If I remember correctly he was mad for frankfurters and ketchup. We use to watch it all the time in my highschool German class and I can't remember the name of the show for the life of me. Please tell me you know what I am talking about.

Awooga Guy's favourite group in the world is Cassetteboy. They do cut-ups, basically they take music and TV samples and cut them up so that they sound funny and offensive. No-one knows who they are, they'd get their asses sued off for breach of copyright otherwise :D
Their new album "Dead Horse" is out now:
http://www.hmv.co.uk/hmvweb/displayProductDetails.do?ctx=280;-1;-1;-1&sku=417287&locale=uk
They also did a Christmas songs remix album called "Festive Christmas" which is quite difficult to find but it's very funny :)
XFM in London broadcast the full album with only a couple of bits missing, and the swear words bleeped out, it can be downloaded here:
http://www.speedyshare.com/466770452.html
In Awooga Guy's opinion the funniest bit comes just after 5 mins 52 secs :D
Enjoy!

I love the louder side of music, like many other posters it would seem. NiN, good ole Marilyn of Manson, Gravity Kills, my new love Muse.
I also like the odd film soundtrack, the best of James Bond is a particular favorite and surprisingly makes a great Valentines gift. If you like soundtrack music check out the works of E.S. Posthumous.
What I absolutely live for though is a UK rock band called Pitchshifter, anyone who is into rock, metal or whatever should find something to like from Pitchshifter.
Starting in the early 90's Pitch Shifter, as they were called then, were producing music like [exactly like, some would say] Godflesh, then by album 3 they were more like Ministry. By the release of 4th album Inoftainment? the received a review from Metal Hammer magazine stating it was one of THE most significant albums of the decade.
With the addition of Prodigy guitarist Jim Davies, the guy did guitar on Firestarter and Breathe, for www.pitchshifter.com - the bands landmark major label release. He made his presence well felt and after a few line-up changes two more albums followed, plus a storming double live and remix album and a DVD.
If you like rock, tinged with samples, electronic music, techno and drum n'bass [!] you can't go wrong with PSi. I believe they're the greatest band in the world ever, I would not say this if I didn't feel it true, here's the evidence...

Ravioli (1984) !!!! You see I'm not crazy! Bellow are two reviews from IMDb.
This show is hilarious. After their parents go on a vacation, the children buy tons of ravioli. Then the real fun starts. The youngest kid is the coolest. He tricks the sausage guy into giving him a free sausage. Then he floods the bathroom and pretends he is a whale. The youngest girl has a calculator fetish and sleeps with them in her bed. The oldest son likes to sneak under the neighbor's house to write. At one point he falls in love with a japaneese girl but when she makes them sushi they all get sick because they dont like raw fish (boo hoo).
I recommend this show to anyone who doesn't speak German
This T.V. series is one of the most disgusting german product I´ve ever seen, it was born of one disgusting idea, stupid children stay alone in their house, they waste the money buying ravioli because this is their favourite food and is very cheap and they can waste the money in very stupid things. The older brother, called Jarl-Kulle thinks that he is a writter, but he`s only an homosexual and dangerous boy for his brothers and sisters and for himself, with a stupid type-writter in the basement. The blockhead family has too the typical racketeer uncle, or something, and the typical old, frigid, and embittered servant without love life, who tries to oversee the silliness that make the imbecile family. This is a very disgusting subproduct, don`t watch it.
Hhmmm, even more disgusting than German Goo Girls?
