I can understand the directional and numbers with the romanji only, but I was wondering if i could find a guide with the basics in kanji or maybe the rules hand book in japanese.

I'm certian once i see the kanji i can better understand the various reigi things we go through in class, right now i'm still slow to catch on because i'm not corralating the commands and words with actual meanings in my head. and its buggin me that i can't be as mindful of all my actions at a practice yet, even thoguh its jsut a little thing.

Thanks a bunch everyone, helps a lot that i can see the kanji they use. Kind of the down fall of learning japanese after chinese, i know the meaning of the kanji but takes so much longer to change the reading.

It's not too bad. Some of the pronunciations are actually quite close. I usually find them to be similar to Mandarin or Taiwanese. :) Furthermore, understanding the meaning already puts you a large step ahead.

it was kind of bad my first year, hated reading things out loud because i would read the rest of the sentence in japanese and the kanji came out in chinese. boooo.. its getting fixed..slowly.
i had the hardest time with katagana too, took me FOREVER to read things in the candy isle.
