Hi all,

I wash my gi by hand. Usually with a bucket so I don't get dye everywhere. It still bleeds from time to time. I moved, don't have a big ol' bucket anymore so I used the tub. It's now blue. Supposed to white. Used a typical tub cleaner and it got most of it off, but some still remains. What can I clean that off with?

On other news, feel free to go off topic, I just adopted two of the cutest little cats. Feel free to congratulate me... :)

Cats make good targets.

For tub, try some soft scrub. Meant for cleaning stove. :cross_eye

Yeah, a little SOS pad goes a long way and I use the stuff to clean off the ring around the tub I get when I wash my keikogi there. Just make sure to spot-test it first!

Congrats on adopting the cats. You'll be a confirmed doormat in no time. My cat sits mesmerized when I do suburi, but not when I'm making contact with anything (no, not the cat!). Something about the noise and sensitive ears. Kiai doesn't help matters either. Despite my cat looking cute in person he looks absolutely annoyed in pictures so I'm getting my better half to splice Mr. Kitty's head onto a kendoka (sans men) in chudan and use it as my avatar.

Ain't technology great? ;)

Put some Comet or other similar product on the tub, scrub it around and let it sit for a while. The bleach it contains will get rid of it. When it is dry or nearly dry then rinse. Works every time for me.

I would think SOS would be bad for the (enamel) finish as it is very abrasive.

Try Oxi-clean. Supposedly, it uses the power of oxygen to remove stains.

The same thing happened to me and bleach was the cure. Just fill up the tub (only as far as the stain goes) and add a couple of cups of Clorox (or whatever brand of bleach you have on hand) and let it sit for a few hours, or overnight. Then wash and rinse your tub as usual.

Good luck!

Don't use your cats, they will became blue, and they won't help you cleaning the tub!!!
