I was thinking the other day (this happens from time to time)! The greatest picture i have seen yet in kendo world was the back cover of issue #2, where "Anderson" tsuki's and brakes his shinai against opponent.
So i was wondering....could kendo world delegate a full page either on the back cover or somewhere within the mag for a "Pic of the month"???
I understand that quality advertising space brings much needed revenue for our beloved kendo world, and i stand beside you on all issues related to the survival of this great magazine, but, cant we just delete Jodo world (kidding) , or even the zodiac section :paraniod: (ummm).......lol!!!
I leave the editing to you of course, but i think it would be great to see people on this forum and across the globe in kendo world!

Send 'em on in and we'll print 'em!
Mr. Anderson's wife took that photo, which was a feat in itself, never mind the actual tsuki!!
The back cover isn't available any more, but we will make space for anything, photos or articles, if suitable.

What are we talking here Hamish.....action shots or anything of substantial interest within the actual art of kendo!?!
By the way, we have started an "interesting kendo photo" thread, mabye you culd have a browse through there as well... i for one am going to get my digi.cam right now and start snapping away....

I guess its more of a case by case situation, but action shots and anything of interest, really.

I know I am a little late on this thread but I think it would be great if you had a pic section... or even a pic of the month on the site. If I were to send in some photos where should I address them to?

In the picture, you can just see the shinai starting to crack, there are a few fibres starting to seperate from the bamboo.

That answerd nothing sorry, i miss read your question...obviously the question was to Hamish :cheeky:
I thought after seeing the picture, that the tsuki was more of a result of holding centre and the position of Anderson's opponent tells me Anderson had been struck by menuchi, and the shinai took all of it, plus after the menuchi i think Andersons opponents right arm raising started the shinai bending, the forward force of each player finished it off....
Just a guess though...

From what I understand he didn't intentionally go out to break the shinai, but it was shot afterwards!
I've got no better guess than Nishi's on the situation, though.

Sounds interesting. Can someone post the picture here? Hope this will be ok regarding any copyright considerations.
