Bogubag.com does an achilles pad, which is meant to support the achilles tendon specificly.

It wouldnt hurt to see somebody about it as well, mabye increase the amount of gentle stretch your doing before class and definatley pay attention to some kind of cool down.
But see somebody first!

See a physio. I got the achilles support and while it helps some, you should rather try to find the reason for the pain.

Never had Achilles Tendon during Kendo practice but when I was running an achilles Tendon bothered me.. So I use Tuli heel cup, and it gose away...
You may need stretch your Achilles tendon before Kendo practice ...
Example is as below;
1. Stand about three feet from a wall and place your hands on the wall.
2. Lean toward the wall -- bringing one leg forward and bending your arms at the elbows.
3. Keep your back and your back leg straight with your heel on the floor. (If you're doing it correctly, you should feel a gentle stretch in the calf muscle of your back leg.)
4. Hold this stretch for a short while.
5. Repeat with the other leg.
6. Do this stretch regularly to relieve heel pain.
If it really bothers you, you should talk a chiropracticor (or M.D)..
Enjoy Kendo!

As a person coming back from a completely ruptured tendon, I suggest you stretch that sucker well before practice. Mine ruptured even though I was stretching it before practice. :( Also, make sure that you keep it loose when you don't practice by doing the stretches mentioned by roc_kendo or running or both. One last thing. DON'T OVERDO IT. If it starts to hurt, it won't hurt you to go see a doctor to get it looked at.

Stretching weakens the muscles and leaves it susceptible to damage. Only stretch after a workout. Stretching before a kendo class makes no sense.
Consult a doctor. If the doctor tells you the pain come from overuse (or anything similiar) of the calf muscle, hit the gym and start weight training your calves.

Don't listen to this ridiculous advice. Of course you need to stretch before a physical workout.
