Tsuru trouble

I got a shinai yesterday and today I dicided to sand and oil it. Problem is I can't get the knot for the tsuru right and all th sites I've seen have about 3 knots already made that I can't figure out how to make. Can any one give me some sites to go to?

My question is why you undid every knot instead of just the one that ties around the tsukagawa.
