WKC on Tv??

Does anyone know if the world Kendo Championships are going to be televised in Canada?? maybe on cbc or ctv?:confused:

I don't have cable, nor access to NHK. If anyone can get clips, or lots of footage and put it on the net for those of us who lack TV access besides those fuzzy things that are supposed to be channels on mine, it would be super appreciated.

Ok that's what I heard. It's this NHK one hour documentary. I just saw the page and it won't be a full report of the taikai itself but rather on the particpating teams and mainly about the Japanese team. They will focus on one male kenshi on the Japanese team and do a one hour documentary about him. My question is, Why not a women as well?

PS This is a weekly show on NHK called Ningen (HUMAN) Document.
That National Geographic spot (some threads back) about the hachidan testing was originally an NHK broadcast from this show. When I first watched it after downloading it the opening theme music kind of gave it away.

BTW if they show a bit of the Team Japan training pre-WKC, there'll be a freak moving directly opposite the camera crew taking pictures of Team Japan. I hope they edit that part out. Oh yes the freak is me :p

Just before going to work I saw the commercial for it. I'm looking forward to seeing it.

Just saw the program. It was very interesting. It didn't really focus on the tournament itself but on Eiga and his recent kendo history, more of like a biographical video documentary. It ended with the winning tsuki. Nice tsuki it was! He totally got him while the Korean Taisho was fixing his kamae after pushing down Eiga's shinai. He was off guard and off center. The slow motion was even more convincing.

I did like the program, lucky for me I waited for it to start after the news of that terrible train wreck, amazing no one died. I enjoyed the way they put it together. Seemed the Korean senshi really wanted to overpower Eiga physically instead of beating his kendo.

Overpower Eiga? Yeah I thought the same thing too just by watching those small segments of the match.

A couple of my friends have seen the Eiga documentary and said it was "inspiring". I wish I could get a copy of it.

We can get NHK in Canada? How do I subscribe? I've been trying to figure it out for some time now.
