In bogu for the first time !! :)

I put my bogu on for the first time last week and :

I find it hot (living in Tahiti has some incovenient :) ), unpractical :)


and I have trouble seeing other shinai, when its come fast (and usually its does :) ), my vision blunder, it was all fuzzy.
It is normal ?
It seem to be a problem at the very begining, and I don't recall to have it at the end of the lesson (but I this time I was very tired :) )

any advice ?

PS : I didn't know Men was so painfull !! It's ok of course, but with the men protection I expect to feel nothing :)

I'm basically blind as a bat so I have the same issue as far as seeing the shinai. It helps if you concentrate on your aite rather than trying to watch the shinai. You basically want to look at the aite as a whole but the position of the kote or the arms will tell you where the shinai is and where it's going...

It's all easy before bogu. Big men. do, kote. Even during the drills with bogu is easy. When someone starts to hit back it gets tough. It'll be tough for about 6 months till a new crop of bogu wearers come through. Stick with it. Keep it simple. That's what I keep telling myself.

Ok, everything that happend to you is normal. Now the blury vision could be first because you were tired or second because you were really tired.

I might even get my girlfriend interested in listening to my kendo stories instead of having her tell me to just goto practise and then complain about me being gone too much ofcourse... isn't she adorable
