The only relatively new game I've seen that has samurai stuff and is any good is Onimusha 2. Stay away from that horrible 'way of the samurai' game.

Onimusha is awsome. I have them both. :cross_eye

I would recommend 'Sword of the Samurai' on ps2 as must for any Kendoka, but the similarly titled 'way of the samurai', however, as 'Anjin-san' put it, is truly horrible.

Shogun Total War is a really great game for those into strategy based games.

I hear Medieval Total War, which is not a samurai game, but is the much more upgraded and improved upon Shogun, is really good as well.
Same kinda strategy with more planning elements to it. Battles look and feel similar, but the units are a little different.

Has anyone tried Kengo? It's a little boring since you can only fight one guy at a time. But it is based on traveling to different dojo's to learn their technique's and then going on to the national taikai. :cross_eye

Yes i have Kengo, its actually quite good,
It's sequel 'Sword of the Samurai', however, is excellent, especially for a kendoist. They used Junzo Sasamori as a 'sword fighting consultant', i believe he has written books on kendo. there are many farmilliar techniques and terms, and it too is about learning from different dojos and entering natitional taikai. I would recommend it anyway

Has anyone played or is it even out yet, Way of the Samurai 2. You know, that one where it is supposed to be like a choose your own adventure fighting game where you collect tons of different swords with the bland music. I wonder if it will improve on the first and hopefully is a little longer. Then it could be cool.

Must be this (http://www.samurai2.jp/game/index.html) one... mini game from Way of the Samurai.
At the top bar you can get directly to the Shockwave game by clicking on "Ge-mu he/ Go to game". Fill in Email, name and nickname (for prizes!).
Basically when the door opens you press the arrows on your keyboard to smash the enemy. Don't kill your friends tho. (refer to the original page, middle button for character intro) For the boss kill him by following the arrows shown on screen. You are only allow to make 2 mistakes.
I m a bit retard on this type of game. 12000 points is my limit

It might be a fun game. If only I could read japanese I'd know how to play it. :ermm:  . They should make a game like tenchu, but with samurai
