This is really really brilliantly irritating. The text that goes with this says
"If you can go longer than 18 seconds you are phenomenal.
The US Air Force uses this for fighter pilots. They are expected to go for at least 2 minutes."
I got to 24.344 seconds once - how on earth do you get near 2 minutes?
Be warned this can be stupidly addictive.

Neither the homepage of the guy who made this game nor any link on the internet that I can see (search google (http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&safe=off&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&hs=vzH&q=link%3Amembers.iinet.net.au%2F%7Epontipak%2Freds quare.html+%22pilot+training%22&btnG=Search)) mention anything about pilot training. I think the email that told you about this (I presume this was an email, right?) was simply wrong.

was an email and it may well be 'sales pitch' But it is still infuriatingly bonkers - how well did you do?

10 seconds on the first try and I couldn't get to it again so I stopped. :P

It took me a while, but finally!!
0.236 seconds!
We are trying to get the lowest time, right? I think I rock at this.

I believe that this link was greenlit on fark.com several months ago. The same statement was made, i.e. this being some sort of training for USAF. But I never found any verifiable proof of such.

It's possible. This is very similar to the "Dot and Line" test for RAF Pilot training. I've had a go on that one and did well. Sadly the old eyes weren't good enough
