Too start I'd like to say that KW #3.3 was very very nice, and I very much look forward to the next issue.

But now to my question... In the "The Way" article the kanji for "way" shows up quite a lot, but to me it seems to be quite strange.
The "road" radical (I think it is) has two strokes above the "road bit" that goes from the left and then under the rest of the kanji. I am used to writing it with only one stroke. (Like in this one: http://www.irontsuba.com/budo6.htm)

I hope you understand what I am talking about and can explain to a japanese language noob what is going on. My first guess was that it might be an old kanji but please enlighten me! :)

They are both the same thing. The one dot one has been the standard since 1946. From 1716 to 1946 two dots was the standard.
The radical is known as Shinnyou 之繞
One dot is ittenshinnyou 一点之繞
Two dots is nitennshinnyou 二点之繞

The two-stroke version is actually the formal/classical variation. (BTW, my understanding is that it's the "book stand" radical.)

Depends on what dictionary you use. If you use a kanwa or kokugo dictionary you would be able to find a refernce to the Kyuji 旧字
Standard 和英 dictionary probably wont show it. I don't know about electronic dictionaries (I've never used one).
