Kunimasa Shinai

I received a e-bogu's Kunimasa as a X-mas present. Does anyone have any experience with it? It feels very very light, how durable is the shinai? Also, I alway wonder why I need to sand down sharp side edges of Take to make them round.. Can the manufacturers do that some machine or sanders?

I've used mine for just under a year now and it has held up great. I only got a hair-splinter at the tip off of the edge of a slat a few practices ago and I was able to snip sand and wax the area no problem. I think it was because I hit the vertical bar when doing hiki-men exercizes.
