Has anyone tried using the Mengan eyeglass frame that clips to the inside of the men (Koei/bogubag.com carries them)?
If you've tried them, what did you think? How well do they work? Do they fog up like regular classes, or are they far enough away that this isn't a problem?
Thanks,

I've tried them once. They didn't fog badly, and stayed pretty clear with a good anti-fog chemical on them (try ones for scuba masks). I found focusing with opponents of varying heights even more difficult than I usually do though. The frames just slide onto and grip the padding around the mengane, stayed perfectly in place. However, I still prefer to wear soft lens contacts.l

they have perscription sport goggles (you know with the elastic band) that work pretty well. you will look like a geek though. i either wear contacts or go blind.

I have the sport goggles from my old racquetball days. That's what I'm wearing now under my men. However, it's kind of a pain since it fogs up pretty badly, and makes putting on the tenegui more difficult (not impossible - I just need to take extra care). BTW - I'm an engineer, I'm used to looking like a geek.

Hmmmm, just curious, how were you able to try them just once? Did you go to the cost and trouble of having your prescription fitted, try it, and switch to contacts (BTW - contacts are not an option for me), or did you try someone elses? Also, good point about the opponent's height issue. Much to consider.

I got the frames as a gift from a friend and had lenses fitted to them. Fortunately that friend doesn't actually do kendo so I am not obligated to be seen wearing them.

By once, I should mean once upon a time, or for several sessions.
