Dojo's in England and Germany

Does anyone know of Dojo's in
1. York in England
2. Heidelberg (as in the University town)
(not sure about the spelling) in Gremany


I have friends living in both so I'm trying to organise a weekend of seeing the lads and a bit of kendo

Check the BKA dojo listings but im sure the only dojo in Yorkshire is in Halifax (Do Shin Ken Yu Kai) about 45 minutes away from York.

As Dave said the, nearest Dojo to York will be Do Shin Ken Yu Kai - Halifax. We practice on a Friday night from 7:30-8:30 (Beginners) and then the beginners join the in with the seniors and that usually lasts till about 10:45 (Then we go to the pub till about 12:00) Halifax is quite easy to get to from York.

If you are interested in coming across. You should go on to the webpage that Dave suggested (www.doshinknyukai-kendo.org.uk) you can email Joe Petrie and he will probably be able to give some more info and maybe some directions from York if not. Drop me a PM and I can sort something out.

If you are about for a week or so, also let me know as I can point you the direction of all the other clubs in the area. There are about four that you could visit if you have the time (You can go and give Nishi, Atama, D'artagnan & Emitbrowne a congratulatory beating for passing the gradings :D ). All the Dojo's are very friendly and will make you welcome, and within anhour and half drive of each other.

why not pop up and see the boys at Darlington? only an hour from York...we're just about to move dojos so if you are coming up let me know...

Maybe it's a bit late, but I read this thread just now, there's a kendo dojo in Heidelberg itself:

They train on Tuesday and Friday.

As I'm from Nuernberg and have never been to Heidelberg for Kendo,
I can't tell you any more about them.
