i wonder how many samurai drank the night before the duel. and got too drunk to make it to the duel. or make it to the duel thinking.. 'screw this.. who care if i die today. let's just get it over with. this hangover is killing me anyway..'

One of my sensei's managed to pass his 4th Dan exam because he had a hangover from the night before. Allegedly it'll make you more relaxed, and not using any strength on anything besides what you should use your strenght on. Maybe you'll be better at doing suriage or nuki men? I mean, I wouldn't want to be hit on the head with a hangover.

i passed my shodan with hangover. i just wanted to get it over with and go home, 6 hr drive, and go to bed. i don't think i'll do that again for ni-dan test.

Supposedly the image of the "showdown at noon" rarely happened. A cowboy was far more likely to be shot in the back or murdered in some other way ,rather than face there opponent "mano et mano" or whatever the phrase is ;)

the fridge in my dojang had a box of Heineken. I was so damn tempted to chug a few before the practice. I think I would've done better.

When you step out of our dojo, you're in a pub. The temptation for a quick Guinness halfway through is enormous...

That would be awesome...a bar within the dojang.
