I did some searching through the KW threads but was unable to find any regarding the men pad. I also did a google search and found some results under "men pad", but it really didn't pertain to Kendo :puzzled:. But I digress...
My question is, how many of you are using one? Is it necessary?
Thanks for humouring my ignorance...

These are useful to correct the fit of a men that is somewhat too big. Otherwise, they aren't needed, unless your dojo does what one of my senei calls "Cave Man Kendo."

I have one. I used for a while the first few months, but only rarely since then. If suddenly develop headaches and bruises, I'll pop it in for a few sessions and then take it out again.
They can be found at most kendo equipment shops like e-bogu (http://www.e-bogu.com/Kendo_s/135.htm) or Eguchi (http://www.eguchi.net/c-1239.html).
