View Full Version : Something strange happened...

As I previously wrote, after only two months that I restarted training in kendo I was selected for the team that last sunday in Bologna, up north from where I live, participated in the CIK Italian Kendo National Championships 2007.
And to tell you the truth something strange happened, something truely strange, because the day before yesterday I came back home with a piece of round metal hanging from my neck in a tricoloured ribbon. On the back it reads
"Campionati italiani C.I.K.
Squadre 3° classificato
Bologna 11 marzo 2007"

Sunday I learnt one more time that if you want to reach a goal then you have to believe in it with all of yourself and be ready to suffer and sacrifice until you don't reach it.
My new start in kendo couldn't have been better, even if I still lose my sleep thinking that we missed the final for only one point...

Oh, and I also said farewell to my old kote, they served me with honour in their last battle, new ones just arrived, now they can finally rest.
I played the national championships with these (!!!):

That sounds oddly depressing. A typo?

Nope, thinking "italian" and writing "english", sorry... :silly:
In italian grammar it does make sense, but in english it is better to take that don't off.
Again everybody excuse me, my english is very poor.

That's ok, just trying to find out if you mean "sacrifice even if you don't reach your goal" or "sacrifice until you reach your goal".
Anyway your words are very inspiring.

Do you really think so? Anyways, the best quote is from one of my sempai right before going to battle:
"Today we can't make war that's why we play kendo"... :chinese: :rambo:

Oh, another funny part was when in front of the opposing team that same sempai looked at me and started to quote from a famous movie:
"People should know when they're conquered."
I immediately recognized the movie, and answered:
"Would you, Quintus? Would I?" :cheeky:
Guessed which movie I'm talking about?

Oh well, they don't smell that much.
I kept them laying unused in a closet for long seven years, and during that lapse of time most of the bad smell went away. :ko:

or you just got used to them :) and your opponents where thinking "wtf is that smell" when you hit em on the head :p biological warfare, its coming to kendo!
It's like the "Fart and move back so your opponent stands in the 'cloud' "-Waza. Depending on what you had for dinner the night before, this can be a quite effective waza :p

I'm asking because I know Belgium well, especially Vlaanderen.
Years ago I had a love affair with a belgian girl. :emb:
Tot ziens.
