Hey, I just wanted to say that I really liked the article on Kendo in Malawi in KW 3.3

I found out about it from Nakagawa-sensei, who was absolutely stoked about being interviewed for Kendo World.

Is there any way I would be able to get a copy of this article?

I have some links with Malawi and would really like to know more about kendo there.

Nice. You can visit your relatives and not miss a beat on your training! I hadn't even heard of Malawi until I read this thread :P

I have relatives that live on the outskirts of the capitol, Lilongwe, out in the "bush" as they say. Though it's one of the poorest nations on earth, you will be hard pressed to find a more kind, loving and generous peoples than those that dwell in Malawi. I'm afraid the same can't be said about the Government. Like many African nations, it is a Dictatorship..er..I mean.."Benevolent pseudo-democracy."

The fact that there is a Kendo Dojo there at all is unbelivably exiting!
:)

Yup. Though I'm not sure it's fair to call it a dictatorship, not any more than any western 'democracy' at least. Since Banda died (who was fairly benevolent as dictators go) there's been a relatively healthy government.

If anyone's ever there, be sure to watch out for the cookery programmes on tv (if you have access to one), it's in real time. When he says to wait for the water to boil, we wait for the water to boil, in silence.
