handmade bogu

I am a new kendoka and because of my hight I have been told that I may need to get custom sized bogu, maybe even handmade. What are the advantages of having a handmade set of bogu? Is it more comfortable? does it break in faster? Any answers would be very appreciated.

Please set the forum to show all threads (drop down menu "from the beginning") and read through older threads. I know it is a bit boring and much at once but there is all information you want. It may get boring for the people who answer all the time to discuss the same questions over and over.
