Could anyone give me a feedback for onlinekendo.com? In particular I'm thinking to buy a Ichi Ken shinai with koban gata...does anyone own it? Are they the only online store that sell chokuto shinai with koban gata?

I know this is a FAQ, sorry if i'm boring...

I know Mike Ma the Director as he lives in my hometown, and I actually own one of their "Ikken" koban shinai. I don't know of any other vendor who offers a chokutokobangata shinai either. It's a lovely shinai and I can highly recommend it. I have found however that I'm not a huge fan of the oval handle. Too many years using a round one I suppose. I prefer the Ikken round handle model.

I own numerous shinai from onlinekendo.com and I've had nothing but good experiences with mine. I don't own the model in question though.

As an old koban gata lover I'm too looking for a good well-balanced chokuto oval grip shinai.
So, mugen no junin, once you'll get it please get back to us here in the forum to let us know your opinion about it.
Thanks a lot.

Thanks.
I'll do the same as soon I'm going to order some koban gata shinai.

Finally I got them...two chokuto koban gata...well balanced and solid even if I haven't used them in keiko yet, the grip is well shaped and a full oval grip seems to make the difference (I own an e-bogu koban gata, but it's oval only for the left hand)...the only things that in my opinion are less valuable are the leather parts, they seem not so good but, as I said, no keiko proof yet...
anyway Legionario this weekend I'll be in Sportilia for the summer stage, so if you are there too you will see by your own eyes

Koban gata is made from the round handle shinai, as them make it round first and shape the handle become oval, so full oval grip doesn't always means better shaped

really? but the take seem to be different also within the tsuka like they're shaped oval from the very beginning...really I don't know...BTW I meant that feel the oval grip in both hands it's really different from a round-oval tsuka...and I like it very much
