Though I believe the law's slightly different in England. In Scotland, you're not allowed to use an instrument (belt, cane, bokken), no hitting the head or shaking. They was a plan to ban smacking children under 3 as well, but apparently its our right to hit children...

why is that you can use a bokken to do a lot of other stuff but you cant use other stuff as a boken?

i mean, you can use the boken to hit a piñata, but you cant use any other stick that you use to hit the piñata as a boken...
