I was doing shiai practise on Tuesday and afterwards I noticed a bruise on my forearm (just above the kote on the inner side).
After much pondering I realised that I must have been pinching the flesh between my dou and the e-bu of my naginata when doing Sune.
I was just wondering if this happens to other people.
Or am I just doing something wrong?

I have seen it before, it happens I guess.
No idea on what might be going wrong though :/

Nagiwiz, that used to happen to me quite often. It only happened when I did sune from hidare hasso. The problem is that you are tucking the isshizuki up under your forearm after you have already made the cut. Since your forearm is resting on the do, it gets pinched. I remedied this but giving an extra snap from the wrist (isshizuki hand). I actually am glad I had that problem because it has made my sune all that much faster and powerfull. Strange how such an ugly bruise does not hurt in the least bit, isnt it?

Thanks
that would explain it. It's been a while since I did it last , I must be slipping back into bad habbits.

I had the problem sevral times. It happened to me once in shiai during a tournament, it was really difficult to keep concentrate after that, because it was th first time.
