はじみまして 私はリチャードと言います!

When I was a freshie in college, My friend introduced to me this sport! This Sho-dan would always talk about it, do the leg lift thing and charge forward whenever he could, but I never had time to join! (Or so I thought!)

2 years later, I come here to Japan as an International Student, where I will be sadly leaving this August, to join a Kendo-Bu at an elementary school! The kids there are amazing! most of them are 5kyu and some mididle school students are already in the dan ranks!

I just started Kendo about three weeks ago, and so far they've bumped me up to the point of where I wear everything except the men. From what I've asked my buddy who is also an International Student and introduced me to this Kendo-Bu, apparently I'm being rushed!

I just read the English Translated version of the "About the Equipment", but it says to use a toothbrush to clean the bogu, and tare. Do I use clothes detergent with water, or just water? They weren't clear on that :confused2

Right now, I'm still trying to raise the shinai straight up properly left hand only, and already their getting me to do the right leg lift thing and charge forward!

Here's some Newbie mame!
