died at 24 moved to japan at 19 used a false name alot but did study kendo, mainly studied kendo on his own and he died doing seppuku before he was going to die from liver failure

You know where he died. If you know the year you may be able to find out his location in Japan by asking the newspaper companies. A gaijin committing seppuku is bound to make the news. If you have his location then you can ask the local federation as they should have his rank recorded.
Japanese immigration keeps a close watch on it's foreign population so I doubt he got far with false names.
