Can someone tell me what's the tabloid meter on japan today (www.japantoday.com)? how is it compared to, say, USA today or New York Times as a source of news?

I wouldn't put it up there with the New York Times but I think it's a great News source for English speaking residents in Japan.

As far as news goes, I dont think that it covers stories as well as they should. What intersets me about it is the discussions about each artical from people all over the world. Its somewhat surprising how negative everyone is though. Furthermore, it kind of gives me a feel for other peoples political views of other countries.
Each article is somewhat short and usually, like other news sources, focus on all the scary stuff that is going on. There has been a case I witnessed before where a lot of its readers disagreed on the subject of an article.
Every now and then you find some H type people talking about the girls interviewed on the pop-vox. The pop-vox itself is pretty interesting to read as it gives insight on the way that some Japanese people think now-a-days.
Let me know if you find a really good news source of japan, more specifically the Tokyo area. I worry about my special someone over there, so I read the news of Japan pretty frequently.
