Iggy's put me on the spot. Thank you all very much for your kind words. The test and its results (pass or fail) are a humbling experience. Its interesting how kendo seems to renew itself (i.e. presents new perspectives and avenues for study) with each new dan level.
Kurukuru sensei - great to hear from you! Please pm me and let me know how you're doing.
Rainmaker - its difficult but not impossible. I failed on my first attempt. Persistence helps turn failures and losses into lessons learned.
Tango - it was great to meet you at the summer camp. I hope we have an opportunity to practice together at another event!
Regards,
Michael

I understand along with Godan grade comes superpowers?
....at least that's how it seems whenever I do Jigeko with one.

No, its still difficult righting a tipped-over motorcycle let alone lifting your X-wing fighter out of the swamp... :glasses:

I thought you already were godan. Goodness knows your kendo sure shows it. I was very impressed at Vancouver.
Congratulations.
