They have a lot of fun in a quite safe environment. From the poster of the vid, "guardup":

This is about having a great time while getting an exceptional workout and improving your reflexes in a safe, exciting, affordable and accessible sport.

This doesn't need to be put in the flame section I think.

protection suit but fake swords?
i do kendo (japanese swordfighting)and we practice with real swords

I guess we all have Musashi in us since we're still alive.

I think that would suit a fighting system more like Eskrima / Kali.

The same thing is done for them... as well as for jodo, knife etc.

Anything you can kill with, you can make a foam replica of and smack the shit out of somebody with.

...apart from chemical / biological weapons i guess... oh and electricity, can't make foam models out of that... basically it's gonna be a real tough job to make a replica of something which is microscopic or intangible

Don't forget nuclear weapons and this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-bAN7Ts0xBo). A very deadly example of an intangible weapon :D.

Actually, paintball is a fully legitimate sport.
They are not "pretending to be at war" more than we "pretend to be samurai warriors".
I think we should tone down on the arrogance and flaming a bit, and save it for the cases that really requires it. There's enough of those to keep the flames section running I feel... ;)

I looked at the clip, and it looked fun. I'd have nothing against trying it :)

Yeah, probably my question was missunderstood... Sometimes I have trouble making my point in English... The question was, is this a real sport or is just something for the video, I mean two guys that make the whole thing up to make a video of it.

I liked the best part, no one ever loses, they just keep a going and having lots of fun. Under this format I think you would lose interest pretty fast, but certainly a very good exercise activity.
