I'm trying to get a kendo club started at my college (GA Tech, in downtown Atlanta), but am unable to find a qualified instructor. I would do it myself, but lack of time has prevented me from taking the 2nd dan test and being qualified (as far as my college is concerned). Is there anyone here who would be willing (or knows someone who is willing) and qualified to teach kendo to beginners and intermediate students at GA Tech?

Perhaps some of these people can help you:

Keep us informed. Here in the U.S., it's not unusual for someone of lower rank to start a club; the persons of higher ranks in the area try to help the fledgling clubs out.

OK. The thing is that we had a club last year, but it disbanded for some reason, there's no trace of their club's bogu, etc., and no one knew the instructor personally (not to mention that the students are scattered and I can't get their names). I tried calling the Georgia Kendo Alliance, but I keep getting their answering machine and they never returned my calls.

Get in touch with the AUSKF, and get information on their Mentor Program.
Also, there is nothing that I know of to prevent you from running a Kendo Study Group in the meantime.

What's the mentor program?
We don't have a sensei in our club either.
