This is not something i'd personally go for, but they look like they are having a lot of fun.... even though there are things that my inexperienced eye questions.
Ki ai seems to be essential, even if you are the losing guy.

The user who posted the videos I mentioned has added 22 new videos...at the same time. Forget the videos, check out the website for myosim kendo. Plenty of false information to make the blood boil.

that thing is full of BS... "Myo Sim Kendo was also founded by Grand Master Sung Hong, and is based on traditional Japanese sword fighting. Myo Sim Kendo is distinguished from some of the more traditional aspects of pure Japanese Kendo. For example, Myo Sim Kendo is more combat-oriented and has less of the formality associated with beginning and ending a technique." ...I mean, FULL of BS.

this is under the safety rules.
3. Follow your instructor's directions. Do not "experiment" or engage in horse play with swords.

OH MY GOD!?!?
Are they serious?!
Even more sad is the fact, that there are people paying for this ... whatever it is.
I founded a thread (http://www.kendo-world.com/forum/showthread.php?t=10683)
where the guy was trying to introduce it to the good people of this forum!
So,I guess the Master of this stuff is more... lets just say, ignorant and not funny, since he thought that he can sell this on KW.:)
Sad really sad.
It really reminds me of this (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=schRB608spE) video.

Do you guys notice that they disabled the comments for the videos? It almost seems like they know they are doing wrong and are familiar with the "Kendo Police" that roam these boards.

The floor of the dojo was nice.
Shiny and made of wood, nice patina.
Shame about the Morris dancers though

What truly bothers me is that these people have the gall to take other people's hard earned money and give nothing back but flashy twirling sloppy techniques and pass them off as "revolutionary". Saw another series of vids with some dude passing himself off as a master of this, that, and the other thing, had a good laugh, and started thinking about the folks who unknowingly buy into this type of junk. Gives the rest of us horrible images that are hard to get rid of.
It bothers me more, though, that I've had conversations with people from Mcdojos about this very thing - I was diplomatic and inquiring, but one person I was talking to got quite irate when I started asking if he found it odd that so-and-so has a grand master title in eight different styles while other individuals can study one style their entire life without ever coming close to such a status.
Personally, I think such people realize that something's not right when they can only enter open tournaments because there are no other schools of their style, and they're getting frustrated with "x" years of potentially wasted time. Just my two cents, and I'm sure there's change for that around somewhere.

The description on how to perform a "block and counterstrike" to the "right head" is a poorly worded description of kaeshi-dou. Which, you know, goes to the chest.

Anyway....

Definitely. God help them when they try to come to a kendo dojo with their bogu for keiko, throw tsuki and miss, and start the revolution.
