Hey there,

I know this was asked earlier in the year, but wondering if anybody knows of a kendo dojo or club in the Tidewater, Virginia (Norfolk, Virginia Beach) area? Closest one I can find so far is Richmond, and that's a bit of a haul to drive...

Thanks!

William and Mary has a club that practices on Tuesday nights from 9-10:30 and Thursday nights from 7-9. Unfortunately, I don't know of any other clubs in the area. The only thing about the W&M club is that they don't practice year-round. Only when school is in session. That may not be as close as you'd like, but it's much closer than Richmond. Hope that helps!

Miyu,

Thanks for the info - so far, the only other thing I've found is a class that's on ODU's schedule (but class and practice aren't exactly the same thing).

Do you by any chance have contact info for the W&M club?

Thanks!

I actually practice with the club so I can talk to the officers and let them know you're interested in practicing. The college does have a rule that any non-students who participate have to be 18 or older, which I assume you are. If you want some more information about the club, you can visit their website at www.wm.edu/SO/kendo.

But let me know when you're in the area and I can give you directions to the gym where we practice. :)

Well, living in Cross Lanes . We have no Kendo. St. Albans we have Aikido, and Iaido. Which it's just as exciting. I love it to death. Just haven't been able to go to classes lately. Due to money lowage. Lost my job. Yay. -.-;;;; Yet , once I start this new job. And the money starts flowing in again. I'd like to start all three together. Make it an easier payment or so. Slight problem is. The closes dojo ..I think. Is Salem, WV. A good two hours and thirty minutes away. Maybe more. If theres one closer, that would be great. But if there isn't.. know any great online places for from and to maps. God only knows I need it. x.X;

Thanks.
