My flickr account is getting maxed-out, so I am not sure what I am going to do. I have a kendo shiai next week to go and take pics at as well... urgh.

When you come to Kansai next year just bring a crate of beer over and you can sit at my pc (pics) or tv (dvds) and indulge yourself in koryu as much as you want!! Until then, patience.

Is there a 'calendar' for these sort of events? or is it all just word of mouth? Might be in Japan next year, and if it coincided with an embu it'd be nice to get along.

Not that I know. Youve pretty much got to be "in-the-know" otherwise these things can pass by without you knowing.

Nah. If you are coming to Japan and you want help finding about stuff then I dont mind helping out.... but im not going to keep a calander and what not... I actually DO have other stuff to do!!

Not exactly what you're looking for I know, but this site seems to have some Sengoku Jidai related events for the whole of Japan including some kobudo embu taikai.

I'm certain someone has made a list of embu in Japanese, just a matter of finding it.
