From the office to the dojo without that annoying stop in the lockeroom in between.

another good point is there isn't a big bow tucked under the back area making your oshiri look larger than life.

i have some hakama type jeans, but these are just odd

Morning,

I *love* the look of a hakama; I'd certainly wear that.

'course, I adore men in hakamas as well. It should be mandatory office wear. :)

Enjoy,

Barbara

I wonder if it'd lose its pleats with regular wear... imagine showing up for an interview with fading creases. tetron in the board room however... hmmm.....

Oh, and kendomom - no guy can wear something like that simply on account of how high the crotch is cut. ... >_<

no, but there are some more trousery type hakama (which probably have a name)
they do look smart, and have a fly zip and everything

then you could go out on the town as a real couple :D
:p

Agreed.

I think I may just have to order a pair of these pants to see what they are really like. If they are 1/2 as comfortable as my hakama they'll be a keeper.

Hakama made from nice material with a dogi. Sure. I think they look great. That's half the point in watching Samurai Movies, so you can sit there going "oooh! I wish I had a hakama like that!"

Beige with eighties jackets though.

The brown and green combination looks pretty nice, I'd wear it!

Never wear hakama in front of cowboys.

many of you won't be old enough to remember this band but the Stranglers bassist Jean Jacques Burnel occasionally used to wear a hakama during live gigs

i can totally picture folks in walking down the street in hakama, so long as it's not a windy day. i fully dig on the japanese construction worker trousers, too - http://www.pingmag.jp/2006/01/18/construction-worker-fashion/ has some decent photos.

A blank screen?
Sorry, the link didn't for me.

In any case, much like George Costanza and he predilection for wanting to walk the streets draped in Velor, were it socially acceptable, I'd wear a Hakama pretty much everywhere.
:D

Well I just recently bought a full mens kimono. There is a relatively cheap place in Harajuku that sells mens and womens kimonos etc. Highly recommend it to anyone that makes it over to Tokyo! Got Kimono, Nagajuban (under garment) obi, and a
silk hakama for about $150.00 Normal price would probably be about $500 or so. Also my avator is the patch I added on to my kimono. Kinda a East meets West type deal since I don`t have an actual Japanese kamon to use lol Wore it to my students Jr High Graduation and to the teacher after party! All of the students, parents, and teachers loved it. Anyways enjoy!
