i have a question. I've had my bogu for nearly a year and a half. Everything is standing up very well, except the palms of the kote which are cow leather. Both kote palms are literally coming apart, huge huge holes that i've left way too long and just generally ugly. I'm pretty sure that its because of the sweat from my hands - they get soaked and then they slowly tear.
so i had a thought for when i get them repaired or when i get my next pair: you know that spray you can buy for new shoes that coats them in a thin layer of water resistant stuff? I think its made by 3M or some such company. Do you think it'd be advisable to put it on new kote palms, in and out, to protect them from the destructive sweat from my hands?

any and all input is most appreciated.

It's the same for everyone. Show me a kote that's not soaking wet from someone after 1.5 hours of practice.

A spray that's designed for the exterior of the shoes... now do you really want that chemical mixed with your sweat and have it soaking your hands for hours on end?

Just bite the bullet and buy a quality kote with thick deer leather palm and don't worry about what more chemicals to spray on your bogu which is in close contact with your skin. We are surrounded by enough chemicals already.
