Aiiiieeeee! So horrible, painful to watch.....lasted about 15 seconds.......please someone tsuki my eyes with knitting needles!!!!!!!!! It would hurt less....and be more enjoyable! :)

Guess we could always wait for them at their local emergency room, because surely thats where they are going to end up.....probably a fracture, wind pipe, or maybe a big bamboo splinter...and I mean big, As I am sure they really maintain those shinai..........( sarcasm.........lotssss of sarcasm)

I remember being in Toronto doing a bit of shopping a few years ago (geographically about two hours from here) and stopping by a store that had some Bogu in the window and thinking I should check it out and see what they had & were about. We looked around for a bit, just browsing when a mother came in with two bokken grasped firmly in one hand and her son dragged behind her in the other..............she immeadietaly begins screaming at the first employee she see's ( thats when I notice the ruddy huge black eye and goose egg on her kids head!!!!) about "how dangerous these things were", and "how dare they sell them to her in the first place. " ( it would appear that she had gone in and got them as gifts for her precious boys so they could play sword fighting ( insert approriate " O My God!!!" here)
So as boys will be boys they did what any kid would do when given a nice new gift like that....they promptly went outside and thwacked away..........( you can see where this is going) when amazingly to all- THWACK!!!!! precious takes on to their noodle. Luckily all he got was a goose egg and black eye....we all know it could have been MUCH worse. So I'm not sure whats worse....becuase there was never any resolution as she stormed back out , kid and bokken in hand. I spoke to the clerk later and he recalled her buying them......telling him that her boys had started Kendo, or something like that....she wasn't sure (shouldve been a red flag) But it goes to show, that without instruction these twits out there shouldnt even have access to shinai let alone booken....but I suppose then they'd just wack eachother with bats or something....sigh....then you'd be reading this in a baseball forum, LOL!

On a happy note they're misery does give us a lot to talk about ...and watch too....thank you YOUTUBE! :)

And also, I totally blame the mother......the kids were just being kids. Im sure we've all done something similar when we were younger.

you may be right...........vids like that seem to crop up a lot....however there al so equally bad they could be interchanged for one another and you'd almost never know. LOL!

Oh, why can't they just do it with baseball bats? Think of all the positives:

The would have to call themselves "baseball fighters"
It would give baseball a bad name
No kendo equipment would be damaged when they make contact with each other's heads
There would be much less talk of banning or heavily restricting sword related goodies
There would be moves put forward to ban baseballIt doesn't get much better than that.

They should have been more dumb and used regular wallhangers. That way we could have seen some gore splatter in the youtube movie and most possibly it would have been shorter too.

All in all, what do you want to blame it on, star wars, kenshin, their mom. Neither of the makers of star wars, kenshin nor their mom told them most likely to make something like this and put it on youtube.

They have thought this up themselves because it would look so cool to be online and have so many people watch their vid.

These kids never thought about other implications it might have had.

ok except for the mistake that the film makers put kendo in the title i see nothing wrong with this video. swords used to be everyday weapons hundreds of years ago, much like a handgun. swords or shinais are not sacred weapons that should only be used by kendo practictioners (it would be nice but not gonna happen). i dont see any marksmen complaining when some idiot shoots himself in the leg with his own gun. a shinai is nothing more than a very well made stick. just because in kendo we happen to treat it with a lot of respect doesn't mean it is actually valued so much with other people. besides for everyone who wishes that shinai's werent sold to these type of people, if that were the case then the shinai manufacturers wouldn't make any money and as a result shinai's would be very high priced.

I do. In almost every firearms related forum or newsletter there are people complaining about retards like that ruining the fun for everyone else.
